I didn’t get contact lenses until college. Up until then, with my thick glasses, everyone thought I was older than I was. When I started working at Larry’s, I was only 21 or 22…old enough, but they were suprised to find I was so young.

Dancing Barefoot
Today I quit work early, and found myself at the coast, enjoying the cool of the fog, and some time to reflect. Everything gets weathered clean where the land and sea meet.
Summer’s Cauldron
The days are roaring forward towards the summer solstice, almost without me some days it seems. No word from the PC yet about medical clearance. I try not to think about it too much, but hope to hear something in the next few weeks; I’m at the average-time-of-wait for that.
Of Blood and Earth
You don’t get goat cheese without getting surplus baby goats. Almost all boy goats, and some girls, are sold at auction, to people in the community, or for meat. Last year, P. had a mobile butcher come to the ranch for the goats that she and some of us tenants wanted for meat. I bought one, but the butchering services cost me as much as the meat itself.
